Sciatic nerve is the largest and longest nerve in the human body and it stretches from the spine right down to the feet.
Sciatic nerve delivers nerve signals from and to the skin and muscles of the thighs, lower legs and feet. When inflamed, this largest and longest nerve in the human body may lead to severe pain, numbness and tingling. Of course, that pain alo may be result of improper body posture, heavy lifting, prolonged hours of sitting etc.
Symptoms for sciatica pain:
- Lower back pain
- Pain in the rear or leg that is worse when sitting
- Hip pain
- Burning or tingling down the leg
- Weakness, numbness or difficulty moving the leg or foot
- A shooting pain – difficulty to stand up
