Here is the recipe,
You will need:
- 1 Cup fresh un-peeled Tumeric (in slices)
- 2 Tbsp Honey (preferably organic)
- 2 Lemons (organic)
- Water, 2l.
Into 1 liter of boiling water add the turmeric slices and boil them for 15-20 minutes (until water becomes yellow in color). After this, reduce on low heat, cover the pan and let it stand for additional 15 minutes. When all this is done, remove from heat, let it cool first and then add freshly squeezed lemon juice from 2 lemons and add the honey also. Stir well, until honey is dissolved. When is done, transfer the liquid into a glass jars. Close the jars and keep them in a dark, cold place for 48 hours. During this time, stir occasionally, like few times per day. After 2 days, strain the mixture into glass bottle/s and let it stand for additional 48 hours. For this time the mixture will carbonate.
After this period, your turmeric lime soda is ready to use. Consume 1 glass per day, add few cubes of ice and few slices of lemon into the glass and you have your healthy lemonade. Shake the bottle before each use.
Enjoy in your Turmeric Lime Soda.
