Foot infections can be quite unpleasant for the person affected. If not treated in time overgrowth of fungus may turn into an infection from which people can have very unpleasant consequences.
Fungal infections are very common worldwide and besides nasty look may also cause discoloration of the nails, bad smell of feet, excessive sweating and even nail separation (onycholysis).
Fungal overgrowth can also lead to itching, athlete’s foot, pain, redness, breaking and like we said, nail separation. Fungal infections can be transferred to another person by direct contact. These nasty infections can affect men and women of all ages and as mentioned, are quite common worldwide.
There are several simple steps people can take to protect their feet from infection, for example, in public locker rooms always wear flip-flops or sandals, and after drying the feet, don’t walk barefoot, put on clean socks.
Also, you should regularly ventilate your shoes when you are able, especially if they are non leather shoes. Select shoes from natural materials whenever you have opportunity. After bathing in the pool, sea or in the shower, wash your feet with soap and dry them with a dry cloth.
