Flavoring our favorite summer drink with lavender, aromatic herb which calms our senses, is ideal way to try something new and at same time to use medicinal properties of lavender.
Lavender oil is essential oil which has huge spectre of usage. This gentle oil posses antibacterial, antimicrobial, antiseptic, analgesic, antidepressant, hypotensive properties.
Among many benefits from lavender, like helping to reduce depression, improves insomnia, of course, it calms us down, some researchers point that lavender oil can reduce anxiety also. Due it’s effect to treat stress and tension, it’s also very good against headaches and for pain relief. Here is where our topic comes. In this article we present one recipe, recipe for lemonade or remedy, with combination of this amazing herb and lemons, including honey as sweetener, to get rid of headache and anxiety.
You will need:
- Fresh Juice from 5-6 Lemons
- 3 Tbsp Honey
- 2 Tbsp Dry Lavender leafs
- 1.5 l. Water
Into 1.5 liters boiling water add the freshly squeezed lemon juice and lavender leafs. Cover the pan and let it boil for 10 minutes. After this time, remove the pan from heat, let it cool, drain it in another pan and add the honey and stir till the honey is dissolved. Keep in mind, mixture need to be cool to be able to preserve the healthy nutritions from honey. When all this is done, pour the liquid into glass bottle, refrigerate it and your lemonade is ready. For the ones who wish stronger taste of Lavender, in the end 1 Tbsp lavender syrup can be added together with honey.
Serve it cool with few cubes ice and few slices of lemon.
