With the spring and summer occurs more mosquitoes, cockroaches, insects, especially ants, who are common inhabitants of our apartments. Fortunately, there are many ways to get rid of them, but the best thing is, that, there are natural ways to do that, not only with usage of chemicals.
It is a known fact that insects and rodents in addition to provoke revulsion, disgust, fear and panic in most people and creating bad hygienic picture of our room, they represent risk of transmission and cause of various infectious diseases and allergies.
First of all, most important is to keep your home clean, pay particular attention to food remains (especially when it comes to sweet foods) and solve garbage often. Do not leave unwrapped food, partly consumed food and debris. Keep a stock of food in glass jars with lids, or in plastic containers. Clean your desk regularly, using natural cleaners such as white vinegar. Clean anything sweet you spill – honey, syrup, sugar etc. Be sure to thoroughly clean the shelves with food, which is a favorite place for insects.
If you have a problem with ants and other insects, but do not want to use chemicals, here are natural ways to get rid of these little invaders. Some of them will make them go away, some of them will destroy completely.
Here are some of them:
Sprinkle critical points with freshly squeezed lemon juice. Citric acid mind to ants and as soon as they feel it, they are moving away from her. Squeeze the lemon juice along cracks. You can also mix in 1:1 ratio lemon juice and water and pour in spray bottle and use the mixture to spray whenever and wherever you need.
Essential oils such as lavender, camphor, peppermint, cloves and bay leaves are good against insects. In a spray bottle with water, add a few drops of essential oils as emulsifying, shake good and spray around the area where the ants gather.
Baking soda and powdered sugar
Combination of this 2 ingredients is very helpful against ants and other bugs. Just mix equal amounts of baking soda and powdered sugar. Put the mixture in a place where there is the most ants. In a few days you will destroy them all.
Not all people like hot chili pepper, it’s same for ants. Just pour cayenne pepper (if you don’t have small children and pets) in the path of the ants. Cayenne pepper will quickly make them go away.
Make solution of vinegar and water, mix them in equal amounts. This is a great way to get rid of ants if you know where they are. You can also pour only vinegar directly to the focal point, in the ants nest. It will destroy all ants and prevent their recurrence.
Take an ordinary chalk and draw lines in front of the doors and windows. Ants refuses calcium carbonate in the chalk and they will not cross the line.
Mint and lavender
Ants and other bugs don’t like the smell of certain plants, such as mint and lavender for example. Place mint or lavender on a place where the bugs are coming from.
Water and detergent for dishes
Boil half a liter of water and add 50 ml of dishwashing detergent. Pour the mixture into a spray bottle and spray critical points or spots where the bugs are present.
