Liver is the largest organ in the human body and is located in the upper-right portion of the abdominal cavity under the diaphragm. Liver is a vital organ and the body’s largest gland. Without a healthy liver, a person cannot survive.

One of the first signs of impaired liver is a change in the skin. The most common reason for Jaundice is a result of a liver disease. Since there is damage, it is unable to properly filter the toxins, so there is accumulation of bilirubin (yellow pigment that is formed by the breakdown of dead red blood cells in the liver), which can lead to yellowing of the skin. When there is damage, bilirubin can not be removed and as a result it passes into the blood. When bilirubin flows through the blood, the skin gets a yellowish color. First you can see this yellow on the nails and the fingertips as well as in the eyes and then on the skin.
