Strengthen your core, abs and your torso muscles.
You need stable core to support your body. Exercises like, starting from stretches, yoga, simple 20 minutes morning core exercise, abs workout few time a week etc. can have impact on your core, making it more stronger and this way to provide better support for the rest of your body.
Stretching is very important for keeping our body and muscles in shape and prevent over-straining. Start stretch every morning for 5-10 minutes at least and few times a week do full body stretching, like full training, or divide it by muscle group, so every day give 25 minutes to certain group of muscles to stretch them good. This way your muscle will be in constant shape.
Relaxing and de-stressing had helped to many people with sciatica pain. Stress leads to acidity in the body which further leads to inflammation and even more pain.
Lighten your load
It’s always better to walk twice and do some job or to try to do it at once and overweight your load. When you carry heavy shopping bags, switch arms more frequently and also take breaks to stretch your back and take a breath.
Use orthotics and good shoes
Good shoes are important for your back support. With every step we make, impact from our foot travels up through the leg and right into the base of our spine. This is where good and quality shoes or orthotics if needed, comes by.
This may be the most important. Many people suffer back injuries due un proper lifting, especially for heavier staff. When lifting heavy object, pay attention on your feet and angle of lifting, then, do not lift bending forward, bend your hips and knees to squat down to your load, keep the load close to your body and then straighten your legs to lift. If you are at workplace, use dolly always for heavier loads or call a co-worker for help, keep in mind, safety is always first.
