It is important to know that this plant vegetation period lasts 8 to 10 months. Ginger root is planted in February-March.
The only material that will be required are pots with soil and bought ginger root. The root of the ginger plant, must be fresh. When selecting pots note that the ginger grows in width, but not in depth.
Before planting, root needs to be prepared first. Soak the ginger root overnight in warm water to get it ready for planting. Next day, remove from water and put the ginger in a plastic bag for few hours. After that, split the root in several parts, each must have at least one well-developed bud. In pots, filled with soil, humus and sand in the ratio 1: 1: 1/2 place each part. Pots need to be regularly watered. Place the pots on place that have sunlight. First results should appear in 1-2 months. In good conditions, it can reach a height of one meter (usually is from 60cm to 100cm). In Autumn, remove the root, clean it from the soil and store in a dry place.
